Product Details

EPDM is a copolymer of ethylene and propylene, and further a terpolymer of ethylene and propylene with a small amount of a third monomer (usually a diolefin) to permit vulcanization with sulfur.

Generally Ethylene Propylene Rubber possesses excellent resistance to ozone, sunlight and weathering, and has very good flexibility at low temperature, good chemical resistance (many dilute acids and alkalis, polar solvents), and good electrical insulation property.

Dimensional tolerances according to DIN ISO 3601-1, industry class B.

Surface deviations according to DIN ISO 3601-3, type feature N.

For specific applications the permitted dimensional tolerances can be restricted according to industry class A and the surface deviations to type feature S.

Materials with approvals and/or conformity tests for special applications (gas, drinking water, foodstuffs) are available, as required.

Operational application limits

Temperature EPDM 70 sulphur: -45 °C to +130 °C

Suitability for specific media

EPDM is good resistance to hot water and steam, detergents, caustic potash solutions, silicone oil and greases, many polar solvents, and many diluted acids and chemicals, along with a high level of ozone resistance. EPDM materials are totally unsuitable for use with all mineral oil products (lubricants, fuels).
