O-ring Installation Requirements

1. Requirements for installing O-rings (O-type rubber seals):

Before installing the O-ring (O-ring rubber seal), check the following:

a. Whether the introduction angle is processed according to the drawing and whether the sharp edge is chamfered or rounded;

b. Whether the inner diameter is deburred and whether the surface is polluted;

c. Whether the seals and parts have been coated with grease or lubricating liquid (to ensure the medium compatibility of the elastomer, it is recommended to use the sealed liquid to lubricate);

d. Do not use grease with solid additives, such as molybdenum disulfide, zinc sulfide.

2. Manual installation of O-rings (O-type rubber seals):

a. Use tools without sharp edges;

b. Ensure that the O-ring (O-type rubber sealing ring) is not twisted, and do not stretch the O-ring (O-type rubber sealing ring) excessively;

c. Try to use auxiliary tools to install O-rings (O-type rubber seals) and ensure correct positioning;

d. For O-rings (O-type rubber sealing rings) bonded with sealing strips, do not stretch at the connection.

3. Installation screws, splines, etc.

a. When the O-ring (O-type rubber sealing ring) is stretched, it is necessary to use the installation mandrel to pass the screw, spline, keyway, etc. The mandrel can be made of softer, smooth metal or plastic without burrs or sharp edges.

b. When installing the compression screw, the screw should be tightened symmetrically, not in the order of direction.
